Who we are:
First Baptist Church of Safford is a body of Christians devoted to serving God. We believe this can be accomplished by diligently studying the Bible and by applying what we learn. We believe that the Bible is the primary source for guidance and understanding of who God is, and that its human authors were divinely inspired to say exactly what God wanted to be said.
We are a simple church, focusing on studying and obeying the Bible. Our focus is not to multiply programs, but to make disciples. We add new ministries as God motivates gifted people to minister! Besides our Sunday events (9:30 Sunday School, 10:45 worship, 6:30 evening Bible studies) we have weekly Bible studies for men and women (7:00 PM Wednesdays) and youth activities on Friday evening at 6:30.
We believe in one-on-one teaching and mentoring. If you’re interested in studying the Bible with someone, we can arrange for a Godly man or woman to meet with you!
We support missionaries across the globe, from Africa to Papua New Guinea to South America to Salt Lake City! But we do not believe that our God-given command to reach the world ends there. We also seek to reach out to our own community by sharing the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with those around For more information about our beliefs, see the Bible! We are an autonomous congregation, but we are affiliated with the Conservative Baptist Association.
